There’s on old saying in Alaska -- when you're preparing to take a flight into the bush, the first thing you should do is walk up to the plane, cup your hands around your face and peer thru the wind screen. You’ll be a lucky person if the pilot has a little silver in his beard. I always thought that saying was simple but true. Flying in the bush of Alaska is full of challenges; flying with pilots who have met those challenges for a long period of time is a safe bet.

Plumbing and heating has been my profession throughout my life. I've been fortunate enough to follow this profession from one Arctic circle to another and in between utilizing unique mechanical designs and basic plumbing and heating needs. Some of these places have been Antarctica, Yellowstone and Denali National Parks, Prudhoe Bay and Pennsylvania, Vermont and New Hampshire, my home state. Check out our photos on our photo gallery.
